SellerEngine Software
Crafting Automated Tools for Amazon Sellers
SellerEngine needed help finding a market for their newly-purchased application …
Their software suite provides a full set of software and services to Amazon sellers to manage their business and inventory.
I was brought on to determine how to take their floundering new product, Profit Bandit, and integrate it into the existing suite in a way that would promote new adoption and increase the revenue of the mobile application.
Customer Progression
The twin goals of my redesign plan were to create a path for new Amazon sellers to onboard to the SellerEngine platform and to make Profit Bandit itself a high-profit asset for the company. To achieve this, I set about conducting user interviews, fleshing out personas, creating user and application flows, evaluating the strengths and weaknesses of the competition, and modernizing the interface of Profit Bandit and Sellery (the first two steps in the path to the professional tool - Seller Engine+).

Designing for Discovery
My objective with the suite redesign was to give users no reason to back away from the entry application (Profit Bandit) and myriad ways to discover the benefits of progressing to Sellery on their own time and terms. This helped decrease churn rates significantly across the entire platform.
Profit Bandit
A mobile scouting app to help Amazon sellers find and track profitable purchases by scanning bar codes and comparing prices to current Amazon offers.
Sellery
An algorithmic repricing web-app providing users with nearly limitless options for building complex customized rules for automated arbitrage across the full spectrum of Amazon sales categories.

Marketing Collateral
A large part of the success of the project was made possible by stepping outside of the traditional product design cycle and getting involved in marketing the products using the company’s blog and social media.
Creating my own Amazon sales account and using nothing but Profit Bandit to do my scouting and inventory management, I was able to show compelling proof that it was possible for an absolute beginner to use the tool to make consistent profit.
